Este blog ha sido creado especialmente para la aventura en bici más espectacular que vamos a realizar en el 2013 por el desierto de Ica.
A continuación te doy la información actualizada disponible para que te vayas preparando para la gran aventura.

Una opción muy interesante sería extender la aventura y continuar con los vehículos a través de los Andes hasta Cusco, Machu Picchu, etc., esto sería materia de ponernos de acuerdo y mantener el grupo unido hasta el final de esta magnífica aventura.
Quienes pueden participar y cómo?
Cualquier persona puede participar en la expedición.

El cupo establecido es para 7 personas. Vehículo Land Rover 4x4.
En que consiste FOLLOWING – SEGUIR AL DAKAR?
FOLLOWING – SEGUIR AL DAKAR es una expedición organizada por Peru Cycling. Se trata de un viaje de aventura en bicicleta con vehículo de soporte a través del desierto en la región de Ica en la costa sur del Perú.
La idea es seguir y explorar la ruta del Dakar entre Pisco y Nazca. Los recorridos se harán en bici por los tramos por donde es posible hacerlo seguidos por el vehículo de soporte que transporta los equipos, la comida, el agua y las cosas de los participantes, el vehículo también ayuda en los traslados por las zonas complicadas del desierto.
Que se necesita para participar?
Muchas ganas y entusiasmo.
Una bicicleta montañera en perfectas condiciones (si no tienes te podemos alquilar una). Equipo básico para la bici: cámara de repuesto, parches, inflador, herramienta multiuso, luz delantera y posterior, parrilla, alforjas, casco, guantes, lentes. Equipo personal: mochila de hidratación, ropa cycling para el día (te recomendamos que sea suelta y de mangas largas, material transpirable) y ropa térmica para la noche, bolsa de dormir, colchoneta, bloqueador solar, linterna frontal, cuchilla multiuso. Comida y agua para tres días en campamento.
Cual es el grado de dificultad del recorrido ?
La dificultad varía de leve a moderada. Se necesita un estado físico básico intermedio. Además vamos con vehículo 4X4 de soporte que nos ayudará en las partes más difíciles de la ruta.
Cuanto cuesta participar?
La cuota de inscripción es S/. 890 soles.
Reservaciones
Tu reservación la puedes hacer abonando 50% (S/.445) hasta el 15 Diciembre 2012. El saldo lo puedes abonar como máximo el 28 Diciembre 2012
Como pago?
Pagos en Perú.
La cuota de inscripción la puedes pagar mediante deposito en cuenta bancaria BCP Soles N° 191-23858545-0-38 a nombre de Florencia Paredes Vila.

Qué incluye la cuota de inscripción?
La cuota de inscripción incluye el derecho participación. Transporte privado ida y vuelta desde Lima (personas, equipos y bicicletas). Snacks y barras energéticas para las jornadas de cleteo. El equipo para los campamentos (carpas, tarpulin, cocina, utensilios). Soporte logístico. Asistencia personal. Guías expertos. Asistencia mecánica para bicicletas. Botiquín y primeros auxilios en caso de necesidad. Ayuda de navegación GPS. Equipos de radiocomunicación. Equipos de rastreo y mensajería satelital SPOT. Vehículo de soporte 4x4 permanente, etc. También incluye los entrenamientos Pre-Dakar (ver detalles más abajo)
Hasta cuando puedo pagar?
La fecha límite para inscribirte es el 15 de Diciembre del 2012 con el 50% (S/.445). El saldo lo puedes pagar hasta el 28 de Diciembre 2012.
Donde dormiremos?
En campamento tres noches, en carpas y/o tarpulin.
Cual será el recorrido, itinerario?
La información detallada se proporcionara solamente a las personas que confirmen su participación pagando la cuota de inscripción.

Almorzamos en un restaurant en Lagunillas, Paracas.
Pasamos la noche en campamento.

Temprano veremos la partida del evento Dakar.
Ingresamos al desierto con bicicletas y el vehículo de soporte

Veremos el paso del Dakar por el
desierto.
Continuamos nuestro viaje en bicicleta y vehículo de soporte 4x4
hasta Nazca o algún lugar cercano.

Visita a los lugares históricos, monumentales y arqueológicos de
Nazca.

Que mas debo saber?
Además de la emoción de la aventura de la travesía por el desierto, la expedición tiene como objetivos los siguientes: Cuidar la zona donde se encuentran los Geoglifos Secretos de Ica para evitar que sean dañados por los vehículos del Dakar o por la gente que va al desierto a ver el evento con sus 4x4, motos, areneros, etc. como ocurrió el año pasado. Esto quiere decir que tendrás la oportunidad única de conocer los Geoglifos, además durante el recorrido visitaremos los yacimientos de fósiles y los restos arqueológicos que existen en el camino y además muy importante es que vamos a verificar si el Dakar ha causado daños al patrimonio arqueólogico y palentológico, lo cual es algo que nos interesa a todos los peruanos.

Charla informativa
Nos reuniremos para realizar una charla informativa y de coordinación una semana antes de la partida. Las personas que vienen del extrajero serán informadas convenientemente y también pueden participar en la reunión por internet vía Skype.
Entrenamientos Pre-Dakar. (publicado 26/8/12)
Entrenamientos Pre-Dakar se van a organizar con todos los participantes. Esta será una gran oportunidad para ponerse en forma, para conocernos todos los que vamos a compartir esta gran aventura y para hacer los ajustes necesarios a las bicicletas y equipos que vamos a llevar y asi tener todo listo para el día de la partida. A very interesting option would be to extend the adventure and continue with the vehicles from Nazca overland all the way through the Andes to Cusco, Machu Picchu, etc., this is just a matter of agree and keep the group together for the rest of this amazing journey.

Maximum group size is 7 on a 4x4 Land Rover vehicle.
What FOLLOWING - SEGUIR EL DAKAR is about?
FOLLOWING – SEGUIR AL DAKAR is an expedition organized by Peru Cycling.
It is an adventure cycling trip with support vehicle across the Ica desert region in southern Peru coast.
The plan is to follow and explore the Dakar route through the desert between Pisco and Nazca. The ride on bikes will be along desert sections where biking is possible followed by the support vehicle carrying the supplies, equipment, food, water and luggage. Transfers through the difficult parts of the desert with the vehicle are also possible.
What is required to participate?
Lots of enthusiasm.
A mountain bike in perfect condition (bike rental available if you don’t have one).
Basic biking equipment: spare tube, tire repair kit, air pump, multipurpose tool, front and tail light, rack, panniers, helmet, gloves, sun glasses. Personal equipment: hydration backpack, cycling clothing for sunny day time (loose fit and long sleeves breathable material recommended), thermal clothing for the nights, sleeping bag and pad, sun block, head light, swiss army knife. Food and water for three days in camp.
What is the level of difficulty?
Difficulty varies from low to moderate. Good basic to medium physical condition is required. On the difficult parts of the route the support vehicle will help us.
What is the cost?
The registration fee is S/. 890 soles.
Bookings.Your booking can be made by paying 50% (S/.445) by December 15th 2012. The final due must be effective by December 28th 2012

What is included?
The registration fee includes the right to participate. Private transport round trip from Lima for people, bikes and gear. Snacks and energy bars for the biking journeys. Camping equipment (tents, tarp, stove, utensils and cooking set). Logistics Support. Personal assistance. Expert guides.
Bikes mechanic Support. Medical kit and first aid in case of need. GPS navigation support. Radio-communication equipment. SPOT satellite tracking and messenger system. Full time 4x4 support vehicle, etc. Training Pre-Dakar (see details below)
What is the deadline?
Deadline for registration is December 15th 2012, 50% payment S/.445. Final payment must be effective by December 28th 2012.
Where to sleep?
In camp three nights in tents/ tarps.

What else should I know?
Added to the exciting adventure across the Peruvian desert and watching the Dakar event, the expedition objectives are: To watch and protect the Secret Ica Desert Geoglyphs Site from damage that might be caused by the Dakar vehicles and by the vehicles of the people going into the desert to see the Dakar event as it happened last year. This means you will have the opportunity to see the Geoglyphs, also on the route will visit the fossils deposits and archaeological sites existing in the desert and at the same time and most important will be to verify if any damages has been caused by the Dakar to the archaeological and paleontological heritage. The last is something that concerns all Peruvians.

Informative meeting.
One week prior to departure all participants will meet for information and coordination about the trip. People comming from other countries will be informed accordingly and can participate in the meeting via internet with Skype.
Pre-Dakar trainings. (update 26 Aug 12)
Pre-Dakar trainings will be organized with all participants. This is a great opportunity to get in shape, meet the other members of the team going on this great adventure and to make the necessary adjustments on the bikes and equipment in order to have everything ready for departure date.
